shareTry Into the Night, a John Landis comedy from 1985--a terrific Jeff Goldblum and relatively unknown Michelle Pfeiffer.
Also Married to the Mob, another Jonathan Demme film, is good. And Prizzi's Honor with Jack Nicholson, another mob satire but a bit more serious than Married to the Mob.
All favorites of mine from the 80s.
Human Beings...Wowshare
Married to the Mob is a great companion peice to Something Wild. i love them both. they were awesome back in the 80's/90's. Just watched Something Wild again on Netflix last night..so glad it is still as good as i remembered it.

I recommend HEATHER'S with Winona Ryder and Christian Slater if you haven't seen it before. I think that movie is completley underated as well. That movie is a really funny black comedy that's really cynical. It's also a really dark film.
shareI would also agree that Heathers is like this as well. But I am saying it's similar not in terms of plot, but in terms of tone. Both movies start out light, and then become extremely dark and serious.
shareFor some mid 80's black comedy gems, I'd recommend Fletch and Ruthless People. And of course, John Hughes movies such as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes Trains & Automobiles, Uncle Buck and Some Kind of Wonderful.
Also, another one with a really similar tone to Something Wild is Flashback, starring Dennis Hopper and Kiefer Sutherland.
Formerly ThierryHenry. Look out, it's St'kade...
Haven't seen something wild yet, but in the genre 'True Romance' is good.

ADAM CAROLLA FOR PRESIDENT!
"DOES YOUR DOG BITE?"
- Peter Sellers
I would recommend:
To Die For
Red Rock West (much darker, but very enjoyable)
Wild at Heart
The Pope of Greenwich Village, a somewhat uneven film but has a great Mickey Rourke performances and a string of wonderful scenes
Street Smart has the quintessential Morgan Freeman performance, the film however isn't on the same level as a whole
Most similar in tone and plot is "After Hours," a Martin Scorsese film that revolves around a yuppie getting involved with a seemingly "free spirit" and going on what seemed to be a simple date that turns into one bizarre night.
shareI'm not amazed that you didn't read the first post carefully.
shareWhite Palace
Laissez les bons temps rouler!

also try Slamdance, it's very underrated but good and dark and VERY LA :)
similar in that a hapless man get wrapped up in a murder investigation that he has nothing to do with. Oh yeah and more great music
another weird LA comedy is Repo Man, Emilo Estevez and Harry Dean Staton, oh yeah and good music
I'm really surprised no one has mentioned David Lynch's "Wild at Heart"...
shareSomebody did, you just didn't read the thread carefully enough. Don't worry, you're the second person so far
