Was "Running Scared" sort of an '80s, "comedic", Chicago variant on "New Jack City"?
Both movies on the surface involve two hip, unorthodox undercover cops (one black and one white) who battle a seemingly untouchable drug lord.

shareHuh. Yeah, I just felt that it was: You give a set up line, I respond with something funny, etc. I felt that, with performers this good, you could have given them the script, and let them give it their own spin, and a more natural feel.
But, I am glad that you liked it more! If anyone can enjoy something, that is always good!
