Good movie?
Saw this one ages ago but has anyone here saw 9 and a Half Weeks, how is it, and has it also aged well? Is it almost like an 80s version of "Last Tango in Paris" (1972)? I've heard the two sequels were poor but are they really worthless?
And does this movie have a lot to say about sex and sexuality, Mickey Rourke's character I've read had demonstrated dominance but it was all consensual from his part, correct? As are I hope all other related scenes in such movie, but do feel free to correct me if I HAPPEN to be "wrong".
Does this movie also say WHY sex is TABOO - as in, OK, it MAY be to a degree, yes, but does the movie shed light on it at all? And its not because, and no offense to anyone, lol, we also use those organs to pee, right? (In fact, I am sure that if it is taboo, it is for MUCH MORE 'important' reasons than THAT.) But anyways...
And is it among Adrian Lyne's best films though in my opinion, he never made a better movie than his most perfect masterpiece "Jacob's Ladder" (1990) - that film is easily a 10 out of 10 from me. Other range between 6, 7 and sometimes 8 but JL is his most accomplished and most perfect film and one of my all time favourite movies.
Cheers.
