Crawford's weird stare

Did anyone else notice that weird long stare Crawford gave to that police Lieutenant during the scene where the Graham and Crawford were talking with the two police officers in the briefing room? What was that all about?

I noticed how Dennis Farina gave same kind of stare to Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan.

Crawford rolls his eyes in the beginning of the scene after the Lieutenant says, "I understand he [Lecter] cut you up pretty good" to Graham.

And with the incoming phone call revealing that a fingerprint was found per Graham's request from the night before, I think Crawford was staring the Lieutenant down to show off his/FBI's superiority to the local enforcement -- Lieutenant says something like "none of us have shit, and we know it" in the beginning of the scene as well.

Or maybe because the Lieutenant was banging his wife, who knows.

I'd go with the wife banging theory

It's because the two cops clearly didn't respect Graham and or take him seriously -- so when it turns out he is right about the fingerprints on the eyeballs, which is of course brilliant, it's a told you so to the cops.
