don't know why this movie never got the props it deserved - wathced it again tonight, and it's very good. very good acting throughout...

I've heard about this scene that's probably in this movie, where Pryor overdoses on heroin. Is that scene in this film?

to my knowledge, i don't think pryor ever had a heroin problem (or heroin overdose, for that matter). it was cocaine and freebasing that he was addicted to...

Nope, in Lady Sings the Blues, he doesn't OD. He is high, but he's murdered.
