I've been lookin for that Old Enough To Rock & Roll song and the one that plays during the training sequence where Doug tells Chappy he's going to do it his way. Anyone know where I can find the Rayney Haynes song and the name of this other one?
hey Kyp678 i know its been a while and i dont know if you found it yet but i think the song you are looking for is either gimme me some lovin or is one vision
The song you are lookin' for is "Gimme Some Lovin'" by someone with the 'Spencer' in their name.... (This song was also played in the film "Notting Hill" with Julia-Roberts-Moder and Hugh Grant. Great Film!)
I'd give it to you with no problem, but I only wish I could avoid being potentially sued for file swapping....
God, something is really wrong with the world today if you are going to sue someone for giving someone access to a song of their desire that they didn't buy... (If that's how the world works, then Musicians should be suing themselves and every other transferable medium in existence.)
I'm glad to hear that someone else is searching for "Old Enough To Rock & Roll" - it appears during Doug's race against the motorbike, and I'm buggered if I can find a source for it - and it's really stuck in my mind (for the last 20-ish years!!)
The soundtrack is missing a LOT of stuff. I think the song he might actually be thinking of of is Eyes of the World by Eric Martin (lead singer for Mr. Big). It was played during one of their training flights, when he finally gets Chappy to say "we're going."
Another song not on the soundtrack is Twisted Sister "We're not going to take it."
Of course "gimme some lovin" by the Spencer Davis Group is missing as well.
I think I know exactly what song you are talking about. He says to Louis Gossett Jr., "Dammit Chappy, I'm doin' it my way!", then he flips his tape deck on that is strapped to his leg (so cool, man) and HAMMER TO FALL by Queen begins to play, while he blows the crap out of every target sitting in the middle of the Mojave Desert with deadly accuracy!
Okay lets settle thsis once and for all. The song when they are trying some target practice in the F16 when chappy agrees to commit to the mission IS 'Eyes of the world' by Eric Martin, it is on his album titled Eric Martin released on Spitfire records or originally EMI-Capitol. He also did the song 'These are the good times' which I think played at the disco when Doug hears his father has been found guilty. This is on his album 'Im only fooling myself' I have both these albums, and they are well worth the investment as his whole style is along this theme.
As for Rainey Haines- 'Old enough to Rock n' roll' I tracked him down to Germany, but have still been unable to find any of his released work including this song. Obviously if anyone else finds this song then please say so on here, as there appears to be many others looking for it too.
Okay i just found "Old enough to rock n roll" on limewire.com now the only drawback is that it actualy plays the scene with dialouge. So you hear the song as you would in the movie!
I've got the song as well, playing in the background to the actual scene of the movie. Happy to share though. I know we're not supposed to copy and share music files but since this one can't be found anywhere, I guess it doesn't damage any commercial distributor or music store. I say share away. Limewire.com indeed has it. Found only 1 host though.
Yes thats the one. All of the other songs not on the soundtrack are available on different albums if you look for them in the right places. But the Rayney Haynes song is rarer than platinum (and maybe more valuable too in this market)!
Great news! Rainey is online and has re-mastered her song, "Old Enough to Rock & Roll". Drop by her website and place an order, if your fast you may even get an autographed copy: http://www.raineyonline.com/
I found 2 listings for this song on Lime Wire. I will have the best one available on my Shared Folder. Titled "Iron Eagle - Old Enough To Rock And Roll"
If you read the fine print on Rainey's site, you can get the song "Old Enough" from Weedshare.com for $5 USD. (At the moment Weedshare is offering a $5 credit for when you first sign up, so basically you can get the song for free!!!) I got mine that way and am listening to it as I type this. Hee hee.
If you order from Rainey's site, it is $15 total with shipping. The sleeve has a picture of Rainey, lyrics and a picture of an F-15 (the Eagle) on the cover. And she'll autograph it to.
Thanks for that link - absolutely brilliant to hear it at last after 20 years! Hmmm, makes me too old ot be listneing to that kind of music I guess but who cares!
I know. I think most of us here have been looking since the movie came out.
It's irritating cause that song featured so heavily in the film but wasn't on the OST, yet, for example, Katrina and the Wave's "Maniac House" is barely audible on a car radio while the character's talk at the drive in place, but it makes the album. Weird.
Had another question about music not on the soundtrack --
What about the brief instrumental which plays while Doug and Chappy are flying to the Middle East, and they need to "make up some time" after refueling. Doug plays something, and Chappy actually likes it...says something like, "I can get used to this." Does anyone know what that song/instrumental is...I've been trying to find it forever.
rainey haines has her own website and the cd of old enough to rock and roll is available there, she even personalise each cd by making an autograph out to the purchaser! i'm not sure how to do links, but i just did a search for her on google or something to find it.
i also got we're not gonna take it off of a tiwsted sister album on e-bay. so finally have a complete cd burned on my pc with all the songs from iron eagle 1 and 2.
I was working on the same thing (a complete soundtrack) a few years ago, I think I was just missing 'Proud Mary' and 'We're not gonna take it'. But does anyone know of a way to acquire the various pieces of incidental music during the opening credits; when they take off for the rescue mission and Chappie's demise?
"I'm not really me. Thats me there- that pile of albino mouse droppings!"
