Should this have been the last film?

I like part 7 & 8 though. I think it should have ended after Jason takes Manhattan though. Then again I like Jason X as well.

Part 3 should have been the last film, though I enjoy pt. 5 for it's unabashed sleaziness. (I know, what about pt. 4 -- which has a lot going for it, not the least being the amazing Joe Zito in the director's chair. I think I may have watched it too many times back in the day, because it's not as interesting anymore)

No, because it left the monster fully functional but temporarily chained in the lake. I like that it added even more mythos to Jason but it also left the door wide open for sequels.

No. I liked Part 7 and Jason X.

FvJ was fun, even if it was more of a NOES film with Jason as a guest protagonist.

I think it should have been The Final Chapter.

Could have been, but ending on the Final Chapter would have worked well. Otherwise, they would have needed a different ending to end it in this one. Still, love the film!
