Jason Lives vs The Final Chapter

They both have my favorite Jasons: Cj Graham and Ted White. Ted White plays a pissed off, sadistic Jason with means of mentally torturing his victims while Cj Graham plays a no bull *beep* calculative Jason with his trusty utility belt. However, just seeing the movie again after many years, the teenagers and their drama in Part 4 is almost intolerable to sit through. Too much screen time is given to them and not enough for the more likeable characters. There's also some unintentional comedy like the dog jumping out the window and really terrible lines throughout. However, the climax of Final Chapter is possibly the best one of the franchise and the movie has one of Corey Feldman's best performances. Jason Lives is my favorite Friday movie. Period. Although, more satire than serious slasher I forgive it just because of how well made the entire production is. The acting is soo much better and the dialogue is very cleverly written. The intended comedy was hilarious and has dated extremely well. Must also be the the only Friday movie without T&A unlike Final Chapter which is very generous with this. However, just because of how of well the pacing and entertainment value is, it doesn't need to rely on as sleazy gimmicks.
