Disgusting trivialisation of rape


I was watching this on DISNEY+ and boy, gosh, I've got to say I was shocked that there was no preceding disclaimer for the unacceptable historical trivialitisation of rape.

Of course I am talking about this line:-
"Vincent, get in the car, this is embarrassing. You're acting like some girl who got felt up at the drive-in."

Here Eddie is mocking Vincent for making too big a deal things - overblowing it if you will - and acting like a "hysterical" girl for being upset they'd been sexually assaulted!

How could this line have even been acceptable in the 80s? It seems completely out of line even for that time period.

As for Disney, I'm kind of shocked they would allow to be shown without a warning as they are usually so ahead of the curve on this sort of thing...

There is no rape in the movie, just a wise crack about copping a feel. Pull the fucking rod out of your ass.
