Dry County Entertainment has picked up the remake rights to the 80's horror cult title "Chopping Mall" says Variety.

The Roger Corman-produced original centered around a group of teenagers who become trapped in a shopping mall with killer robots.

The new version will retain the basic concept of young people trapped in a mall, the robots however will be exchanged for something darker and more supernatural.

Robert Hall and Kevin Bocarde will produce and write with Hall directing. Hall is also coming on to direct, with shooting to begin in the Spring.

DON'T GO SUPERNATURAL, JUST UPDATE THE ROBOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exchanging the robots for supernatural elements?? That's so stupid. It's not that simple, they'll end up changing everything. He robots were the star of the movie, ffs. There's a supernatural movie coming out every other week, keep the bots for something different! Ugh.
