Didn't she first come forward about abuse from him in 2009?

Both of them were heavy drug users,throw in both were abusive to towards one another and there was a bit of age gap too. I think Hurt was 36 and Matlin was 21. No excuse for him to sexual attack her that's for sure. I know Hurt admitted he was pretty difficult during that time of his life.
