Is this the only movie primarily about Deaf people?

I cannot seem to find any other movies under this genre, a movie starring deaf characters. Can anyone think of any others?

Just type in search "Deafness" (select keywords) and you will find here many titles. The actress Marlee did many movies like this one and "Bridge to silence", just check her filmography.

I recomend "Papa's Angels" (2000), it's soo lovely! "Mr. Holland's Opus" with Richard Dreyfuss is wonderful too.

Check this movie: "Jenseits der Stille" (Beyond the Silence)

Also, you might want to check out a movie called: Crazy Moon . It has a young Kiefer Sutherland in it. Here's the link: www.imdb.com/title/tt0090882/.

Universal Signs! It's amazing. Amazing. And much better than this movie.

Check out "The Miracle Worker" about Helen Keller.

The best movie about deaf people that I've seen is Johnny Belinda.

"Man of a Thousand Faces," which is about Lon Chaney Sr., also has some prominent themes with deaf people (Chaney's parents).

"Dear Frankie" is about a young deaf boy and it's a touching family drama.

I feel cranky and pubescent today, and I don't know why. I'm going to take it out on people I like.

True, but use caution here because "Dear Frankie" uses hand shapes and signs used in Great Britian, which is different from American Sign Language, so don't use Frankie for your ASL class homework assignment (LOL)!!!

Many attempts have been made to generate a universal sign language, but to date each country has their own set of signs - incidentially, ASL is also made up of 15-20% Native American hand signs (which makes me happy), so ASL is stricly a language of North American origin...

ASL is also closer to French sign language than it is any other, including Britain, despite the US and Britain having similar spoken languages.
