What are some examples of Roger Ebert's reviews disagreeing with whatever the ‘consensus’ was?

What are some movies that most people disliked but Ebert actually really enjoyed? What about ‘great’ movies that Ebert didn’t like?

Siskel and Ebert were notoriously harsh towards a lot of horror movies that were beloved by fans. Look up the reviews of the Friday the 13th movies and I remember them really hating Silent Night Deadly Night. A lot of horror movies were not made for critics but when they gave them negative reviews they came off like elitist pricks.

Here are several examples:

- Siskel gave "Coming to America" a thumbs-up while Ebert gave it a thumbs-down.
- Siskel gave "Apocalypse Now" a thumbs-down (but changed his mind years later) while Ebert gave it a thumbs-up.
- Siskel gave "Dead Poets Society" a thumbs-up while Ebert gave it a thumbs-down.
- Siskel gave "Terminator" a thumbs-down while Ebert gave it a thumbs-up.
- Siskel gave "The Island of Dr. Moreau" (1996) a thumbs-up while Ebert gave it a thumbs-down
