Unintentinal Comedy

Damn...this film is full of unintentional comedy!!

How about the outfit Carla wears to the first wrestling match??

Or that speech about Pele by the chef??

I was rolling through the whole film.

What was your fav scene for this??

I just thought it was sweet when Louden says after he loses his virginity, "It really does make you hungry, doesn't it?" I thought it was just really sweet and innocent of him and it makes me laugh.

I thought the speech by J.C. Quinn as Elmo the chef was excellent, not funny.

Same here. I often cite the "Pele speech" as one of cinema's great monologues (albeit short in comparison to some others)- often in the same list as Quint's regaling of the USS Indianapolis in "Jaws", Bonasera's opening plea in "The Godfather" and Fr. Flynn's "gossip" sermon in "Doubt".

I'm totally with you guys, here. I think of that speech a lot when I see some sort of athletic feat, that I know I'd never be able to do. I found it moving, then and now.

"It was god damned glorious."
