Does anyone know of any plans to remaster Spies Like Us, and release a special edition widescren version? It is one of my favorite comedies of all time, and the second DVD i ever bought. The DVD that is out now is full scrren, single layered, 2.0 sound. So, when is a good version coming? ........anxiously waiting.

It's in 1.78:1 instead of it's original aspect ratio of 1.85:1, but hey it's still a marked improvement.

Uh,....guys....look at the tech stuff.....it was SHOT with 1.33 and matted to 1.78.
Just like Shining and others from 80's......it was safety'd for TV.
You've had the movie(all of the frame) all this time....:)
You may get more resolution from the blu-ray,...but you are losing ALOT of
above and below "info".
I kinda wish for dual versions of these kinds of films,...4:3 in 1080p,...can be zoomed in to 1.78 or 1.85 quite easily and still have lots of resolution.
Do a frame compare when you get the chance,....and notice alotta cut off heads in the widescreen version.

true it loses some of the top and bottom but it does show more of the edges
