This article is trying to argue the transitive property. Apollo and Rocky were basically evenly matched, Drago destroyed Apollo in under 2 rounds, therefore he should do the same to Rocky, and because he doesn’t, it’s unrealistic.
1. Rocky and Apollo were not even matched in this movie. They may have been in first 2 movies, but here Rocky was the current world champion. And Apollo had been retired for 5 years.
2. It just doesn’t work in sports. I’ll use a similar real life example. Muhammad Ali, and Joe Frazier were evenly matched. They each one once by decision, and a third fight went to the 14th round. George Foreman destroyed Joe Frazier within 2 rounds. So according to the transitive property, he should’ve done the same to Ali. But Ali not only made it past the second round, he won by knockout in the 8th. It’s almost the same scenario as the movie.
