Best Vietnam war movie ever?
If not, then what is? Maybe Missing in Action?
shareBest Vietnam war movie ever? You cite Missing in Action as the alternative as the best Vietnam war movie ever? LOL
If not, then what is? Maybe Missing in Action?
The films you mentioned don't have nearly the action as the 2 I cited
shareThen you're way off here. Hot Shots! Part Deux beats both, hands down.
shareConsidering that it's a spy/hostage rescue movie and not a Vietnam War movie I guess there are a lot that are better.
shareOf course, it perfectly captured the essence of the vietnam war better than any film out there, anyone who's intelligent enough to be aware of subtext and symbolism would probably agree, I always felt that way for decades, and i am fan of Deer Hunter, Platoon and Apocalypse Now, but those are more realistic films, this one is intended to awaken the feeling and images in the subconscious about that whole war, it is like an abstract painting that captures everything in its own single image, whereas the other films are are like 1000 of photographs trying to capture the same, the difference is in efficiency and simplicity, and artistic expression. The music score itself brings you closer to that atmosphere, location and time period.
shareWhat does artwork and or painting have to do with this movie?
shareThat's arguably Platoon.
shareMaybe best confused vet returns home movie.
Not the best Vietnam War movie ever, IMO.
I'd go with....
"Full Metal Jacket"
Full Metal Jacket was boring in the 2nd half. Rambo had more action. And war movies need to have action
shareI don't necessarily disagree with you - but the first hour and last 45 minutes of FMJ are incredible.
I see your point, but overall, I think FMJ is better than FB.
Oh wait, I just noticed something, we are talking about FB 2, right? I didn't even really care for that one. Yeah, if it's between that one and FMJ - I definitely will take FMJ.
