i never understand why some fans claim this is the best sequel

shareI would never say that it's the best sequel, but I have grown to appreciate it a bit more as we got more sequels. It still has a dark and menacing tone, and Freddy isn't a joke yet, spouting off one liners all the time. I think it's better than the Dream Child, and Freddy's Dead.
shareI'll never understand that one scene from 5 with the swimming pool where that girl (Yvonne) is on the diving board and it comes to life and breaks apart. Did Freddy make the swimming pool deeper because when almost all the water drains, it looks at least 40 feet deep.

They had no idea what they were doing in this one, didn't know how to continue the story. They found the Nightmare formula with 3 then repeated it in 4 and 5 before spazzing out with 6, doing something meta with 7 and then taking on Jason fucking Voorhees in the crossover of the century in FvJ.
1, 3, 4 & FvJ are the only ones really worth watching. 7 is a cute little change of pace too but more of a side quest.
