i never understand why some fans claim this is the best sequel

Nope, that would be the godawful remake from 2010. Even Freddy's Dead was better than the horrible remake.

I would never say that it's the best sequel, but I have grown to appreciate it a bit more as we got more sequels. It still has a dark and menacing tone, and Freddy isn't a joke yet, spouting off one liners all the time. I think it's better than the Dream Child, and Freddy's Dead.

I'll never understand that one scene from 5 with the swimming pool where that girl (Yvonne) is on the diving board and it comes to life and breaks apart. Did Freddy make the swimming pool deeper because when almost all the water drains, it looks at least 40 feet deep.

The one liners in that movie were way too much for me to find anything remotely scary about Freddy.
