I have seen all the National Lampoon's movies and this In my honest opinion has the ugliest AND most annoying Griswold children in it. Seriously look at them!!! .. And who can not mention Audrey's annoying voice!!!
It's really too bad the original Rusty and Audrey couldn't play them in this movie. It would have been so much better!
I think they wanted the original Rusty and Audrey to play them, BUT one of them, *Rusty* I think couldn't come back, so they decided to just have 2 new actors playing the roles.

Hahaha, i just watched it again after a few years and I have to agree, the first Griswald children were way better. Audrey was cutey and A.M. Hall was better than that butt-ugly redhead that played Rusty in this one.

Dana Hill had type one diabetes, and died at age 32. According to People Magazine, "... Hill fell into a diabetic coma that was followed by a stroke. Though she woke periodically, she could communicate only by blinking her eyes yes or no."

shareWell, producers wanted a character who could display dozens of emotions & be a true whiny pain in the butt. They got what they needed. Gold star. I actually liked Dana Hill. Sure she was a pain, but all of them were. Dana Hill's finest moment was when she was at the restaurant with the family, Jason Lively's being a freakin' pervo as his character always was and Dana gets a message that her boyfriend broke up with her and got interested in some backstabbing bimbo girlfriend of hers. Not sure if I nailed that detail perfectly but as much as a pain in the neck as she was I felt for her character. She's relatively cute for barely 5' and 100 lbs at best.

shareJason Lively was the lead in Night of the Creeps. Not my favourite Rusty, but he seems like a sensible choice to follow up from Anthony Michael Hall from a casting stand point. Audrey as a chubby girl with a Cobra Kai boyfriend was funny enough as well, I found she looked a bit like her predecessor though I see no point in her recast as Dana Barron never was publicly unavailable, but Hill is fun as the whiny one and has some nice moments with the other members, plus she died in 1996, so no point in making fun of her or defending her anymore. I especially like Beverly D'Angelo in this, and Chevy always gets my vote. And Moon Zappa... dear God. The only thing sweeter than her was that shamefully unreleased Dr. John song.
shareI didn't really mind or pay much attention to Jason Lively, but with all do respect, Dana Hill is the ugliest and most irritating Audrey. I like that Dana Barron returned for CHRISTMAS VACATION 2, but sadly she immitates Hill's man obsessed cry baby act. I prefer her version in the original. She was more like the girl next door.
However I think Marisol Nichols from VEGAS VACATION is the sexiest Audrey.

i agree, but do check out Dana Hill's bio--very interesting--the boys' lips looked almost botoxed--very distracting. These talents were close to the entertainment business to begin with, anyway relatively speaking, i haven't checked their pay but it was probably lopsided compared to Chevy or the blonde--you couldn't make the movie without Chevy, but you could dump Beverly.
