Why and how Marilyn would go out with Jonathan? A guy with no confidence, no looks. Not even academic record or nervous but sincere moves towards her which some girls might appear to find cute like we see on most nerds&hottie movies.
shareNope. Try as I might, I just can't suspend disbelief to imagine why a chick who is supposed to be one of the most beautiful girls at her school would even be remotely attracted to a runty idiot like Jonathan. It feels like they're dating because the script required it.
Why doesn't Marilyn seem to have any self-awareness as to how Jonathan treats her? He doesn't care at all about her personal feelings (see the car and sex scene for examples) and sees her as a piece of meat to f--k.
Those are some of the reasons why I feel Mischief is a terrible film due to the creepy lead character and lazy writing.

shareI have to think you were not paying attention. Within the movie, it is explained WHY Marilyn said yes to Jonathan when he asked her out. The 4 of them went to the drive by, Marilyn had the hots for Gene, but he only cared for Bunny. They even showed this within the car and Marilyn reacted to it. When something like this happens, a girl feels vulnerable and weak. And THIS is the time when you strike, that is why, while she was in this low self-esteem phase she said yes even to a guy who was not really on her level because at least someone paid attention to her.
