Now hear me out, of course in the movie being set in medieval times it is preposterous. But on it's own it is absolutely awesome! If you can get over the synths, the melody by the strings is absolutely incredible! Totally great, just not for this movie.
Yes, I agree. The galloping bass lines complement Goliath’s movements across the plains perfectly. It’s a vivacious, lively score that exudes adventure, power, and courage. It is also tender and enchanting at the right moments. Most people can’t appreciate the use of synths and will only make crude comparisons to other uses of synth in other contexts, and this only shows how narrow their frame of reference is. Such people’s opinions are really inconsequential.
Leave the music aside. The RECORDING of the music is harsh and compressed,,with no depth. In short, it is tinny, and nearly intolerable when played on a good sound system.
It’s 1 of my favorite movies and its score is a reprehensible counterpoint to its narrative.
