They squandered Demon

I was watching this movie some time back and realized that they had an interesting character by the name of Demon ( played by Miguel Nunez jr.) who had potential to be a very memorable character but they made him into a goof and a easy kill for Roy. I wonder if I am the only one who thought they wasted a good character opportunity.

Dude deserved to get shis kebab'd for his awful singing

Demon was cool

I agree! He definitely should've been in more of the movie.

"You're gonna get it, b!tch!"

reply

Poor Nunez, Jr. He was the consummate victim for the horror movies.

reply

Yeah the first time I watched this I was excited to see him, as he's kind of a horror veteran at this point. But they have him show up just so he can take a dump and get killed off. Lame.

He sucked. Debi Sue Voorhees is who they squandered. She was the best looking chick in the entire series, and had the best tits. She should have been the "final girl." A final girl who has sex and shows her tits... what a concept. It would have been ground-breaking.

^I agree 100% with this!

Honestly to let her live through the end woulda been utter genius. It woulda violated the horror tropes but by '85 the tropes were getting old there needed to be a twist. Letting the mega babe who was wild live woulda been an excellent twist and a perfect cherry on top of how insane this movie was. It broke every other rule and trend, why not do it one more time? Honestly it's a disappointment to me they didn't; they went a little too safe with Pam as the lead. She was super bland and lame.

They would have had to re-write the role and make it more memorable besides the sex scene but I'm sure they could have done so.

Exactly.

Has there been a slasher movie where the loose girl who we see nude ends up the final girl?

I want to say yes, but my brain is just not coming up with the answer.

reply

I can't think of one, though I've mostly only seen the slasher movies from the "big three" franchises of the '70s and '80s (Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th). I watched some of the new wave of slasher movies that Scream (1996) kicked off, but I don't remember much about them. And of course, there have been a ton of obscure slasher movies that I've never seen.

Demon was the token black character, who they killed quickly. Reggie was the main black character, who they allowed to live and be a hero with the tractor. Funny how the movie had a token black and a main black. It's like it was woke and fake woke at the same time.

It was those damn enchiladas.....
