Can anyone tell me what the deal was with the red headed chic who was actually working for the theater? They made it seem like she was in on it. She was running amuck with the rest of the trapped movie goers and then gets turned into a demon as well. What was the deal with her in the beginning? Also, who was the guy in the mask who was handing out the fliers? They didn't explain who he was or what? If he was a demon then he didn't look and act like the rest....

My theory is the masked guy controls the demons in a way. He then hires red head to work at the theatre and tells her that if anything goes weird it's part of the marketing and not to worry.
Either that or she always acts weird.
I think the guy with the mask is one of the demons, but he didn't transform the right way, he sort of half-transformed and malfunctions somewhat, so the devil gave him the task of handing out fliers and catching folks who try to get out of the theatre. He's an incompetent demon, like a spaced-out PA.
Well I'm guessing the Usherette in the movie was a literal "RED HERRING". It's a device used make us think someone is involved with the horrific events but it turns out it was to distract us from something else.
That's my take on her character.
Bava is asked the question on the dvd commentary. I could've sworn he said she was a part of it. need to go and listen to it again.
shareI think she was just a real usher and not involved with the demons. At the beginning they show her all ravashing and sexy, but to us, she looks suspicious and like she's hiding something, but it was her frikin' ACTING. The Italians got the sexuality all wrong, they were just trying to show us what a mesmerizing actress/model she was. Like with the band of junkies, they were supposed to be really tough but semmed kinda gay, they way they moved.

If you watch carefully the guy with the mask on is the same guy from the film they are watching. He was the original demon. The mask the black woman tries on later is the same one he tries on in that film. He is the first demon, and therefore is using this theatre as a breeding ground to infect and create more. The red head was probably hired and told to play along, that its all for publicity, then SHE got suckered into it as well.

Nah its not him, he does play a seprate role in the movie as one of the punks in the car with Ripper and Nina.

shareI think her role got cut because apparently this movie was done without any real script. Plenty of set ups without pay off. Just decided... uh ok let's just kill everyone and the end.
