Nope. By far the worst IMO. I watched the first two recently, liked them both. Watch this, and found it hard to believe this was ever labled a classic. I thought it was a horrible movie. By the time it got to the zombie going around shooting at people I was about to turn it off I found it so stupid, but alas the movie was almost over anyways.

Dawn of the Dead was by far the best of the original 3.

Agree 100%. Romero must be smoking crack if this one is his favorite.

My number one favorite zombie movie of all time. And also the best zombie movie ever made. Masterpiece.

I've seen discussions on the same topic here, going on as long as 10-pages. The majority of horror fans on imdb rate this as the worst of the trilogy, with Dawn as the best.

I'm with the minority that rates Day of the Dead not only as the best of the three, but as the best zombie movie.

Never be complete.

it grows on me. i used to think it was a fair film with great gore. the more i visit this film i appreciate it more for different reasons. i give it a 9 out of 10

This is a tough one.. I'm not really a fan of Night (or remake). Even though I've watched this more often than Dawn, it really depends on how I feel whether Dawn or Day is better.. They both have a superb atmosphere about them that just sucks you into the world for awhile..

Great point, Roden SH. It's the atmosphere that really makes this movie work. That's what was totally missing from Romero's later zombie flicks like Land and Diary. They looked like they could have been directed by anyone. Night, Dawn and Day all three had their own very unique and (for lack of a better word) neat atmospheres. It's hard for me to pick one or the other as my absolute favorite since they all hold a special place for me. I saw Night on Count Gore DeVol's Creature Feature when I was a kid. Saw Dawn on VHS right at the "dawn" of the video revolution where the idea of being able to watch a movie in your own home was still new, and therefore incredibly exciting. Day was the first time I ever saw a Romero zombie movie at the theater when it was released. So yeah, all three are my favorites. I know that's a cop-out, but what the hell. :)

P.S. Wow. Notice I didn't even mention Survival of the Dead when I was talking about Romero's later, far less effective zombie flicks? It was so bad that I actually forgot about it. Man, oh man.

Night of the Living Dead is my favorite of the original trilogy, but this one is definitely in 2nd place.

Come, fly the teeth of the wind. Share my wings.
