Well.. duh..

1993 would be wonderful as a time point. I was in Jr high had no bills to deal with. Okay there was no internet/social media but I didn't know about it either--trade off.

I liked this comment, lol: The gas station would be playing “Enter Sandman” instead of “Mr Sandman”.

Twitter going nuts? One person posts...

It's just ageing, I guess. I was a kid when BTTF came out, and 1955 seemed like an ancient, archaic time. 1993 seems far more recent to me, because I am old enough to remember it. Happens to everybody lucky enough to get older.

Thats what passes for journalism these days.

Trolls attention seekers pretend to be offended , and journalists publish "Twitter SLAMS xyz" , "Audience uproar!" and other such shit

looking back it seems tha martys jump from 85 to 55 was way bigger - stuff was "more different"

but thinking a bit longer - it wasnt.
I reckon the differences between now and 93 are bigger.
Internet & mobile phone & social media mainly.

what was different from 55 to 85 ? not much
clothes changed and chuck berry & van halen arrived.

Well, the internet was a huge world changing thing. So it would seem very different between then and now.

There were a lot of technological changes between 1955 and 1985. The DeLorean looked like a space ship to the people in the 1950s. Man hand landed on the moon. The idea that somebody would own two television sets was so ridiculous to them, it was just passed off as a joke. Stuff like that. But none of these differences really changed our day to day life the way the internet has.

reply

Exactly. A DeLorean doesent do anything a '55 chevy cant do.

Instead of Marty being shocked by a world without diet soda and skateboards, he'll have to figure out payphones and computers that don't go online.

Actually I think the culture shock would be a lot milder going back to 1993 than what Marty went through in BTTF. What would the biggest surprise for him? No trans or non binary kids at his high school?
