Wouldn't you remember what the person who set you up with your future spouse looked like?

How do you forget a detail like that?

They only spent a few days with him 30 years back, ofcourse the image of him has become less clear. If you're suggesting they should have seen the likeness between him and their son, why would they? They slowly saw their son grow up from a baby into a young man, he must look totally different to them. Even if one day he suddenly reminded them of the stranger from the past, why should this be mentioned in the movie?

Plus, even if the resemblance was noticed, it would be most likely taken as coincidence... Though I have always thought it might cause suspicion that "Calvin Klein" actually knocked up Lorraine, and that George ended up raising another man's baby.

That really doesn't make sense. Marty was the youngest sibling. If Dave looked like Marty, there might be suspicions, depending on when George and Lorraine were married and how long after Dave was born. But two children later? It would likely never cross their minds.

I can't remember the faces of all the people I went to school with every day, let alone someone I only knew for a few months maximum. It would never work nowadays though what with camera phones, they would all have pictures of him!

Well, they did give Biff credit for getting them together for one thing (it's true to a certain extent but they mention it like it was done under normal circumstances, lol). Maybe George and Lorraine had a pretty wild time during the 60's that they forgot 50s Marty altogether? Ha.

The thing is, as important as his role was, the fact is Calvin Klein was a distant memory to them. They only knew him for a week, 30 years ago, and by all accounts there wasn't a single photograph of him. It's not hard to accept they could've forgotten what he looked like. And even if they suddenly did see a resemblance between their third child and the guy who was actually responsible for bringing them together, then Lorraine would have some explaining to do to George.
