The feeling and atmosphere of the following films are similar to me, how would you describe the aesthetic and atmosphere of the films listed, and can anyone add to this list? (especially but not limited to nocturnal films set in 80s manhattan)

Dog Day Afternoon, which begins with that is suppose to be a simple bank job and ends with the whole neighborhood taking (and changing) sides.

Repo Man has a similar theme of everything being somehow connected with a wide span of interesting characters.

Naked Gun movies, Airplane!, High School High, Police Squad! and just about anything else with the ZAZ name attached.
Why?
Because there are surreal things that happen in those movies that others treat as everyday occurrences.

Two come immediately to mind. First, The Game with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn and Game with Simone Signoret, James Caan and Katherine Ross. Game is impossible to find, not available on DVD, why I have no idea. I've been looking for it for years.
