“Raat Chali Hai Jhoom Ke” (The Long Night)
It's Pakistani, and very similar - weird and funny stuff happening to a guy in the city (Karachi) at night. I liked it more in fact.
But probably next to impossible to get a hold of now.
Streets of Fire fits the description pretty well.

If you like Afterhours you will love Late Last Night with Emilo Estevez. It was a TV movie that did make on to video. It was really funny. Emlio goes out on a bender with his buddy. All sorts of crazy *beep* happens.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned The Night Before from 1988 with Keanu Reeves and Lori Loughlin. Classic 80's "Night" flick. When I first saw The Night Before in theaters, I automatically thought of After Hours.
