Ahead of its time as a series. Truly great. Shame it's not on blu-ray.

This whole series deserves a top quality blu-ray release with all the original music, etc.

It does. The success of the subsequent movies demonstrates the solidity of the series’ basic idea. Woodward was great.

Really recommend it. I watched it first time around and loved it. Bought the DVD of the first season a few years back. Brought back some great memories (including a fantastic drum-heavy theme, courtesy of Stewart Copeland!).
