This movie was made in 1984. Supposedly, according to the trivia page, Dolly Parton was offered 7 million dollars to play the villainess.
HOWEVER, I believe sigourney weaver made history by being the first women to make a million dollars starring in the film aliens in 1986. 86!

Not to mention how large a piece of the film's total budget that would have been. And...for Dolly Parton? Just...no.
The problem with IMDB is that being this open just causes tons of misinformation and fake nonsense to be piled onto every film. Some of the trivia sections are absolutely laughable, with 78 different "so and so was considered for this role" entries that have no basis in reality and no reference. The site needs more moderators to watch the pages, and less of them scanning every message board post for "offensive" material to protect someone's imaginary childhood (hint: if you can use the internet well enough to get here, there is a lot more offensive stuff at your fingertips than some guys calling each other names over a casting choice, and so on).
I believe it's accepted that Liz Taylor was the first actress to be paid one million dollars and that was for Cleopatra.
Be interesting to work out if earlier actresses were actually paid more once adjusted for inflation.
