Respectfully, this was horrible

Happened to just see it and I think this was one of the weirdest films ever made and not in a good way.
The story didn't offer any explanations what was happening, the dialogue was awful, the directing awful, the soundtrack awful and the ending just too stupid to belive.
How is this a 98% in Rotten Tomatoes?
And I'm not trolling nor pick a fight with it's fans, but if someone could just explain what the hell was this movie about?

Y'see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little...push[laughs] ~ The Joker

Should have asked your momma to change the channel back to SpongeBob.

I just watched it and I don't think it was horrible but I didn't like it much, either. I was most looking forward to the music, which was not very good at all. The performances were decent but nothing special, the look into the life of repo men was kinda entertaining but not enough for a whole film and the 'alien' story didn't work. 5/10

I think this may be a movie where you had to live during the time it was made to really understand it. I watch it every five years or so and it takes me right back to that time. It's a great snapshot of the cynicism and disappointment in the failure of the freewheeling 1970s to stop the (somewhat) repressive 1980s from happening.

Movies from the first decade of this century will have that same effect--there were some fine stabs at stopping the oppressive tide of the far left, but the collusion between democrats, corporations, and the war machine have all but killed the dream of a free, tolerant America (I know progressives claim the tolerance mantel, but anyone who's woken up and escaped that cult knows better).
