How old were you when Purple Rain came out?

I was 2 depending on the month (born in June 15, 1982). My first memory of this movie was in 1986 I was 5 years old.

Don't know how old but I was in sixth grade. My older brother took me to see it as he was a huge Prince fan.

Seeing it as a young kid who didn't know much and being so into Stallone and Arnold action films, even then I thought Purple Rain was great and the accompanying soundtrack was perfect.

I was 6. I still remember seeing this in the theater with my older sister.

I was 34 when it came out; now I'm 66 and just saw it at a theater in Los Angeles yesterday (May 1st, 2016). Music was great and he was very cute!

Lol about the same age as me, I told someone on the Beyoncé board that I watched Purple Rain around the age of 4 or 5 and someone replied back that "your parents let you watch Purple Rain at that age".

I was around 8. Whenever it eventually came out on tv is when I saw it so probably around 9 years old.

I was a bit young to have seen it in the theater or anything as I was 7. I first saw it at home with my aunt who was a teen at the time, and loved it so much even though I didn't understand most of it. Prince was so charismatic and just a star...thinga even a 7 year old can see. They same aunt bought me the 45 Raspberry Beret single a year later to play on my record player.
