Some random thoughts about The Philadelphia Experiment (1984)
- Michael Pare was okay, a bit awkward sometimes, but alright.
- Nancy Allen was just absolutely wonderful.
- The Major Clark character was very memorable as the leader of the gang out to capture David. His fall into the snow/mud in the street during the chase seemed entirely unplanned, and in the end he was friendly to David when he drove him out to get sucked up into the time vortex. I'm glad they had that moment in that cool vehicle. Though, this is at odds with the fact that a bunch of his men were killed while chasing him.
- You truly feel the emotions when the older Pam sees David, and it was disappointing that the older Jimmy didn't want to talk with him, but it served to get the movie going again.
- That pop music / helicopter camera scene along the vineyards road which cuts from the time vortex rocket video was a wonderful transition.
- Some of the video colour effects and sound effects were truly creepy.
- Coca-Cola got quite a product placement, with three prominent scenes, including a zoom in on a can which the great Stephen Tobolowsky holds and seems to hold up on purpose, and the camera even does a slight movement to ensure it remains visible.
- Did I mention it has Stephen Tobolowsky in it? Love that guy!
- That strand of saliva which strings out between David and Alison during the slow-motion end kissing scene was a bit eww. Surprised they didn't do another take.
- During the vineyard chase with the wagons, the second vehicle crashes and those military officers were all clearly killed. I felt sorry for them - they were just trying to do their job and get David into the base (which he ultimately does on his own accord), but they did shoot multiple times at David and Allison, so they were being very aggressive.
