I lost track of how many ppl were killed in the first 10 minutes of the film.
When that happens its a great thing.
And I still don't know why so many ppl were killed, but i'm not complaining.

Funny:) I was a big fan of this movie, but when I grew up, and watch it again - I laughed my arse off:) It's so awful..
By the way, in the beginning of the film, ninja was after some scientist who like golf.. (cops mentioned that the scientist was murdered)

Did they ever mention why the scientist was killed? I think I was talking over that part.
Regardless the opening is almost as cool as Santa's Slay for best opening ever.
I remember the opening was just full of action which was non-stop. Just action, action and action. I quite enjoyed it but it got faded away later on in the film which actually blew the whole film off. So the opening sequence is the best scene in the whole film.
shareI only counted 32 deaths in the first ten minutes alone. And two of those deaths were unconfirmed since it didn't appear that the ninja did anything to "kill" those two police officers in those instances. For example, in one scene, the ninja kicked the police officer while riding his motorcycle and the officer fell off the motorcycle and dived into the pond. In another instance, the ninja kicked a police officer while he was on the helicopter and he fell into the same pond. Though there is the possibility those two police officers might've drowned if they couldn't swim :).
I guess that police academies should mandate that ALL their police officers should be able to swim, especially after the incident in this film.
Yeah, the first ten minutes told me this was going to be a exploitation action flick at it's best. Cannon films were the best thing to come out of the eighties!

It was just like here's some dude playing golf with this chick by his side. Then BAM! a ninja comes out of nowhere and proceeds to massacre the guy and a slew of police officers.
The week prior to this massacre, the ninja was playing golf and some of the other groups were making fun of his shots. So he took his revenge in that opening scene

Agreed. This is definitely one of the best openings for the ninja movie ever. Just watched this movie again on a new DVD/Blu-Ray release and it looks even better than I remembered. Loved the new video transfer. The picture is so clean.
shareYeah ranks up there with Red Dawn(84) & Dawn of the dead(04) for the best first 10-15 minutes . Just picked up the bluray. It is pretty cheesy but I still enjoy it.
