I saw this movie for the first time last week and loved it. I also wish I had a time machine so I could travel back to 1984 and bone the hell out of Mary Crosby.

Ever since I first saw Mary Crosby on TV I always thought she was hot even when I was a kid! I remember seeing her on Buck Rogers and a lot of other TV shows when I was a kid including films.This is a great film all right and love it!

That is why I miss watching films like this late at night like tonight and over the weekend! I grew up watching this stuff and when I got to high school I use to watch late like tonight and Saturday nights USA UP ALL NIGHT! I miss those days and wished that they would come back to replace the programming that they on TV now!

You have to remember this film was made in 1984 and was meant as a Star Wars parody. I was only 13 when the film came out and loved it as a kid. The fact that I can still watch it today is a testament to its zaniness and quality. In the end its exactly the kind of film that its trying to be. I don't find it surprising that it has a relatively low score as lets face it, not a lot of people enjoy these kinds of films. For people like myself, that grew up during the Star Wars phenomenon and was still a kid when it came out, it was definitely an enjoyable film. I still remember watching this time and time again late at night on channel 20, back when the regular TV stations (2, 4 & 7) would go off the air late at night. Fond memories!

It isn't really very good. I certainly hope it was intended as a joke or parody (misfire) of Star Wars (with a little Mad Max for good measure). If they were serious, it just crossed over into Ed Wood territory.

It is cult, camp or a really cheesy Star Wars knock off or all three.

Still it's Citizen Kane compared to the stuff in Aliens Gone Wild(2005), a compilation of some wretched work of Charles Band.

I just watched it again after many years and noticed a lot of attention to detail. It was done really very well and never takes itself seriously. The time warp scene is always very clever and fun but sad because you know the movie's about to end. Would have loved to have seen a sequel.
