terence stamp and john hurt
were great in this. my fave film by the director.
sharestamp is excellent and so is hurt, however i still think someone else should have replaced him. Hurt dont look like a gangster at all.

Hurt may not have conformed to the typical film gangster, but his performance was magnificent. His stoney face most of the time portrayed a man with little emotion or conscience, typical of a gangster. Except at the end . . . winking at the girl just before he died was a humorous moment.
shareYes, the wink, and the moment before he says she's a lucky girl and spares her. I see pain and longing in his slitted eyes.
