Worst Film Music Of All Time Contestant

If this had been made with a decent score I reckon this movie would NOT be the subject of constant derision. I fully acknowledge all its silliness, however it's not -that- bad if you can divorce yourself from 'the book' (which it has nothing to do with.) And in some areas it's quite interesting.

BUT... I'm thinking hard about a -worse- film score in modern movies and I can't come up with one right now. The soaring 80's guitar hero theme (repeated ad nauseum) is such a joke... It's akin to 'Flash Gordon' but without the humour.

Try imagining without soundtrack. It's a much better movie. Not great, but not awful.

The theme right at the beginning of the film with the desert background is one of the best film themes ever. really captures the book so i take it you're talking about some of the music later in the film [the non orchestral]?

Worst taste of all time contestant?

Seriously, how can anyone dislike this epic and wonderful score?

reply

It's just another simpleton trying to make a comment to generate controversy. Best to ignore this type of creature.

you kinda failed here Mail, you kinda failed horribly.

ditto drasil45.

This is one of my favourite soundtracks, along with BATMAN (Danny Elfman's, and Hans Zimmer's), and of course STAR WARS IV-VI trilogy (although I actually prefer the theme to SUPERMAN if I'm honest!).

I will not fear. Fear is the mind-killer!

reply

Pretty much my favorite soundtrack too. I do not care about Toto but here they did spectacular work.

reply

Best movie soundtrack ever, even better than Gladiator and Empire Strikes Back. It captures the enormity.

reply

You're so wrong. The score is among the quality traits this movie possesses, and believe me there are very few.

To chouse1020 (I hope I spelled that right), in 1984 Toto won 7 Grammy's for Toto IV.

You are the only one in this thread who feels that way.
