Olivia d'Abo was only Seventeen...

...when she was nude in this movie. I'm finding out that this is a more common occurrance than I thought. I've noticed that more than a couple of actresses were nude before their 18 birthdays. Not that it matters, I guess.

Why do Americans make a big deal over something that is (surprisingly) not even illegal in their own country? Such prudes! It's very annoying.

Actually the movie wasn't shot in the USA so the host countries laws would be the only one's of interest. Olivia's parents could have just given permission for the filming, but the issue would have been when the film was released in the US.

About all those comments concerning Olivia being scared for life by doing something under age that involved nudity or sexual tension of some sort. Were it forced on her in a dark alley that could very well be true. However Olivia has also made her life choice to be an actress and as such would probably have no worries at all flaunting herself at that age. For your average 15 year old to do something like this movie might be trouble, but for someone whose desire is to be a movie star I'd be willing to bet it was nothing to her.

From my understanding, any child female or male is legally permitted to be in a film nude as long as they are not shown in a sexual manner: literally or suggestively. Some jurisdictions (in and outside of the US) do not permit any kind of child nudity, and would consider it child pornography.

Melanie Lynskey was 15 when she got nude in "Heavenly Creatures" in a sexual scene. I have it on DVD and that scene is cropped.

Thora Birch was 17 when she got naked in "American Beauty" in a non-sexual scene.

There's an unrated American film called "Child Bride" that I saw years ago on TCM that showed a 12 year old girl naked, non-sexual, it's on DVD in the US with that same scene uncut, from my understanding.

I once checked out this Russian/Chinese film from the 80's, I believe, and there was an all girl orphanage during a war (WWII, I believe) where they were all taking a shower naked. Aged from 5, I believe, to 13/14 years old.

As long as it isn't sexual, or suggestively sexual, I believe in most places (including the US) it's legal.

Now before you think I'm a pervert, or what not: I've rated almost 5,000 films (TV etc.,) on this website--so, I don't go out looking for these films. I see an actor/actress I like, or a storyline: I watch it.

She looks hot as hell.

US is heading for a new Victorian age. Young people today are uptight.

She was born Jan. 22, 1969 and the film was released Aug. 31, 1984. She turned 15 eight months before the film was released and they didn’t film, produce, sell, market and release the thing within those few months. So she was 14 when they made it.
