Same scene in every cop movie
A cop getting screamed at by his boss in every rouge, I'll-do-it-my-own-way cop movie. They all have this scene.

So what.
shareYes, I believe it's mandatory.
See Lethal Weapons.
In the movie Network those harried police bosses are called "krusty but benign."
shareDid you ever think that maybe Beverly Hills Cop invented this trope?
shareYeah, ‘cause no lieutenant or commissioner ever chewed out Dirty Harry.
The world didn’t begin in 1984; and I prefer “cliche” over “trope.”
Also, no one “invents” a cliche. Someone creates an idea that others make into a cliche through lazy and unimaginative over-use, to be kind about it, or plagiarism, to get straight to the point.
