I Just Purchased This On DVD
I couldn't find it on Blu Ray and would like to own it in that format, but if DVD is all I can find, I'll take it. It's a pretty good sequel for what it's worth with damn good FX for it's time

shareI recently watched a nice HD copy over the holiday and was rather aghast at the FX. You could see the wires and optical blurring around the composited shots in many scenes. Never saw any of that stuff before on VHS. But it certainly was great back in the day. Other shots are overly grainy. I think I understand now why they have to put so much restoration into these films to make them look good in the transfers. I'm gonna check this out on dvd to see if maybe it falls a little somewhere in the middle.
shareI'm sorry but unless you're going into this movie to look for faults, seeing this wiring was a product of it's time in 1984 because we didn't have the fake CGI FX we have in 2025
shareUnfortunately much of the budget went to pay Roy Scheider.
Still was a good story. Could use some updated effects for sure.
