Nannie

Did they never create a face and upper body for Nannie? Is there a sketch or something...haha....that was lost, maybe? I've always wanted to know what she really looked like.

reply

OOh...I hated that! Not being able to see her face! It h as always driven me nutz.

reply

haha me too.

reply

she always sort of intimidated and scared me!

reply

Indeed, Nannie used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid. I can't remember if it was a nightmare or a daydream when I saw the camera quickly pan up Nannie's long, stocking-covered legs to reveal a hideous looking face. Maybe that actually did happen in the series and it was thrown in to traumatize an entire generation of children.

reply

yeah i know! i got so frustrated by that.

reply

fitting really, at least now you can project Barbera Billingsy's face onto Nanny.

reply

I remember when I was little and there was a live action play coming to town, and they had a prop Nanny that was like 10 feet tall and nothing but stocking feet!!

reply

they never showed her face but there was one episode where they went up into the attic and saw a picture of her as a REALLY little girl and i think u saw her face. although... i was REALLY little as well and i forget.

reply

They weren't suppose to show her face. This was the world through the babies' eyes.

reply

isn't that sort of what cow & chicken were taking the piss out of? maybe nanny was also just a pair of talking legs....

reply

No, the funny thing about that in Cow and Chicken is that after that, they kept making references to them like that.

I have some memories of when I was around the age of the Muppet Babies. You know what, adults were headless to me too. I seroiously only remember legs.

reply

Nanny was hot.

I got the impression they showed her face in a comic. And they did show her wearing a motorbike helmet.

reply

Yeah, I'll bet Nanny was hot.

Anyway, found this on another forum.
