Has Scott Baio's alleged real life transgressions ruined your enjoyment of Charles in Charge?

Between his outspoken and admittedly divisive political stances (which I won't go too far into since this isn't exactly the appropriate forum to do so), his downright callous remarks about his old Happy Days/Joanie Loves Chachi co-star Erin Moran when she was dealing with late in life personal demons, the murkiness behind his abrupt exit from Diagnosis Murder and its connection with Victoria Rowell, and that's before we have to get into what Nicole Eggert and Alexander Polinsky have since accused him of doing to them on the set of Charles in Charge.

Yeah unfortunately it did :( I hate it because I used to love it but Baio just wouldn't shut up on social media, so much that it broke my ability to see the character and not the actor. I think what pushed it over the edge was how disrespectful he was towards Erin Moran passing. Now I look at his face and I no longer see Charles I see the guy that cant stop talking about politics, that dodge questions about sexual abuse claims and the guy that makes a co star death all about himself and how much better he is than most. Also, I do not think he gets a lot of new roles offer because of this. Nobody likes to work with a pretentious loud mouth, it's also bad for business.

I did not know any of this was even happening. I guess it will affect my rewatching because I would rather believe it was a positive experience for everyone. And I usually try to keep the actor's life out of what I am watching because, lets face it, you would have to cut out tons of films if you didn't. But if they are super crappy people it does make it difficult to enjoy them on screen.

What happened between him and Victoria Rowell? Did he disrespect her in some way? I use to watch the show sometimes. I thought they got along. I read he insulted Michelle Obama during the last presidential campaign. He is a Trump supporter, I guess that tells you something.

Long story short, the rumor going around is that Scott Baio left Diagnosis Murder because he objected to the idea of romantically pairing his character with Victoria Rowell, since she's black. In recent times, Scott has faced accusations that he's a racist. Of course, Scott defended himself by saying that how could he against black people if he directed numerous sitcoms starring blacks like The Wayans Bros. and The Jamie Foxx Show.

If that is true, it's sad. I never heard about Scott being a racist either, but it's possible. Had Victoria ever commented?

No. I can separate a character from an actor. I still enjoy Roseanne, 7th Heaven, and Cosby Show reruns too.

I really respected Cosby as a Black woman myself. It hurt that some of the accusations were true. I knew something was up when he never defended himself. I was disappointed in Roseanne, she can go kick rocks. The same with the perverted star on 7th heaven. That show was so sugary sweet it gave me diabetes at times. To be fair, there were a few good episodes.

I like Baio but I never really got into Charles In Charge.
