To Original (1983) fans only

I just want to get an idea of you on here.
I watched Auf Wiedersehen, Pet on it's very first night back in November 1983 and have loved it ever since, constantly rewatching it for 25 years now.
As I've said on my other posts it's still my all-time favourite television programme and even when I still say it is my older brothers and family or friends wonder how it appeals still SO strongly after 25 years.
Nothing comes close to it's number one spot on my favourite TV of all time.
I wondered what it does for you other men (and women) here. Why it's still so constant, what is it's enduring appeal to you?
For me, first and foremost it was the cast. They hit all the top notes the casting group. Tim, Kevin, Jimmy, Gary, Tim, Pat and Chris were the 7 best actors to play those parts.
And obviosuly the writing was top notch.
Just like people state what are iconic figures from other TV and film to me Oz's brown leather jacket, Wayne's red and blue baseball jacket and blue hair and basically the hut are striking images and enduring in my mind. I always thought everything about it was perfect. The cast, the writing, the set, the clothes and the original airings (Fridays 9pm ITV).
Anyway, just wondered if my fellow die-hard, ardent fans still vividly imagine the show and love it as much.
Also Im interested to know what you good people also like aswell as Pet being your number 1 show.
My other favourite TV is;

2; Only Fools & Horses
3; Shameless
4; Game On (series 1 only)
5; Black Books
6; Father Ted
7; The Professionals
8; Minder
9; My Name Is Earl
10; This Life
11; 24 (1st 3 series)
12; The Office
13; Burn It
14; Armstrong and Miller
15; Shooting Stars

I have vague memories of watching the original broadcasts in 1983. I'm pretty certain those first 2 series were repeated on C4 a few years later, along with a documentary I've never seen since.
Since then I've worn out one set of videos and am on to my second set of DVDs -- still waiting for the top notch special editions series one and two deserve though.

As for other shows, Prospects rarely gets mentioned, but for me it was easily on a par with Minder.

1980's Auf Pet and the Terry era of Minder remain my favourite Comedy Drama series, and both have aged like fine wine.

Both of them have great chemistry between the main actors, and effortlessly mix comical and serious moments with a gritty, realistic edge.

ITV rarely made great sitcoms like the BBC but they made up for it with these two gems.
