A 6 Rating? What Kind Of Man Rates this Less Then a TEN?
Nuff said, if you are a man and rate this less then a 10, time to turn in your man card.

I'm a woman and I even I gave it a nine. Mainly, because I thought some of the deaths were gratuitous at the end of the film. But only for that reason. Wait, no... there wasn't enough bare male chests, yeah... that's it.
shareCame on the message board to post the same thing. My dad was a green beret in Vietnam, and this is his favorite Vietnam-related movie by a long shot. They kept the politics out of this movie. The message was simple - they've got our POWs, we need to go in and get them. I'm appalled that so many users could rate this at any less than a 7 or 8. The brotherhood displayed in this movie is enough to give it a 7 alone.
shareI like the movie, but in overall film quality, I wouldn't give it more than a 7.

My bio isn't blank.
That's silly.
shareYou don't rate a movie based on your moral interpretation of the subject matter, you rate it on cinematic quality: acting, directing, writing, cinematography, etc. "If you give this anything less than a 10, you're a COMMUNIST!" Shut up...
shareWell what kind of movie would you want? You want a movie where it's you and Ho Chi Minh and you're like "Kiss me Ho Chi Minh," and then you kiss with him, and it's really gross, and then you're like "Make me the happiest girl in Vietnam," and he's like "Whoa baby, I'm not ready for that kind of commitment," and then it ends with you crying into your pillow?
I bet you want that movie.
Y'commie.

I was also surprised that the rating was that low. However, a 10 should only be awarded what would be considered a "perfect" movie, IMO. I always laugh when I see a huge spike of 10's awarded to every movie, no matter how bad, on this site. I would rate this movie an 8. For reference, I rate "Iron Man" at a 9. I'm having trouble thinking of a movie worthy of a 10 (perhaps "Jurassic Park", and maybe "The Sting", and maybe even "Iron Man"). I have to believe low ratings for this movie are from far too many brainwashed people under 40, who have been subject to bombardment by liberal propaganda their entire lives, and wouldn't understand the concept of valor if it hit them in their latte-stained faces.
shareone with taste.
