Jaws 3-D vs. Jaws The Revenge

Which one do you reckon is worse? I absoloutely hate them both but Jaws 3-D a little bit more. Make sure after you reply you however many people have voted on Jaws 3-D/Jaws 4.

Jaws 3-D: 1
Jaws 4: 0

Jaws 4 is possibly the worst big budget sequel ever made and its own director has slammed it in radio interviews.

Amen to that. One of the crimes is that it doesn't even look like a big budget film. It looks like an experimental film...that went horribly wrong.

Having watched both recently on Netflix, I can say I hate Jaws 3-D a lot more! A bunch of characters I could care less what happens, a bad ending too. Revenge is no winner, but at leasr Caine was in it, despite the horrible hairstyle of Gray!

I like Jaws 3 much more. it has a sense of humor and even a sense of humor about itself. 4 seems to hold the audience in actual disdain.

I can be entertained by a corny movies (Jaws 3). And whats more... Jaws 3 tried to have those 'Jaws' moments. The fin breaching the surface with the theme in the background, chasing the waterskiers... Or the big reveal near the end.... It had intriguing sequences. Attacking the underwater tunnel.

4, i can't think of anything good.... I remember one time Brody encountered the shark underwater, and it was like,... just floating there.... So bad. no intensity or even trying. The banana boat part was a bonafide attack, but it was handled all wrong... One moment Ms Brodys on the beach, the next moment, there's a person in the shark's mouth. No lead-up... no tenseness... It just happened.

I prefer Jaws The Revenge, sure it is ridiculous in plot but least it entertains me. I have watched Jaws 3 several times, sometimes i really hate it, sometimes I get through it by amusing myself by adding my own scenario's to it or by just laughing at it. That scene where it shows a horror shot of all their faces when the Shark busts through the glass in one the worst effects sequences ever has me in stitches. Also picture quality wise on every format ever released Jaws 3 makes me feel like I had my eyes cleaned with sandpaper before pressing play.

Both terrible with the odd good bits but Jaws 4 is slightly ahead for me.

Nah, can't say you're right there.

Sure, Jaws: The Revenge returns familiar elements from the first two films, including one of the original actors. However, playing homage to a classic doesn't make an inferior sequel any less inferior. In this case, accompanied by an illogical premise, zero tension, and technical incompetency, it just adds more insult to injury - especially when they kill off Martin Brody by declaring he "died of fear."
Also, no disrespect to Lorraine Gary but while Ellen Brody made for a likeable supporting character in the original film, she's completely out of place as a main protagonist in this sequel.

Say what you want about Jaws 3-D's shoddy execution and campy/B-movie tone, but at least it had creativity, originality, and some self-awareness.

While Sean's death was indeed the best kill scene in Jaws: The Revenge, that isn't really saying much. It's still ruined by an overuse of quick cuts and glaring continuity errors (blood already in the water etc.), so proclaiming it to be among the best kill scenes in the entire series is absurd to say the least. All the attack scenes in the first two movies are better than this, even Kelly getting mauled and FitzRoyce being engulfed by the shark in Jaws 3-D are better than any attack scene in Jaws: The Revenge.

I find it weird how you argue that Jaws 3-D was depressing, boring and numb. If anything, that's what Jaws: The Revenge is.
Jaws 3-D actually had a fun summer movie vibe which is what Jaws film should be. I'd much rather watch Lea Thompson in a bikini, the layout of SeaWorld, and frequent shots of water-skiers than sit through all the gloomy melodrama that plagued most of Jaws: The Revenge's runtime.

All good points.

III is void. It's numb. It has 4 or 6 colors.

It is null and voice and an idiotic plot.

IV had one of the best kill scenes in the series.

Revenge went back to Amity. Featured Lorraine Gary. And had one of the best "kill scenes" in the entire series with the death of Sean Brody in the opening.

Yeah nah... you're still wrong, for reasons I've already said in my reply to your original post.

Jaws: The Revenge is still the worst entry in the series, and no amount of deleting previous posts that I've reply to only to repost again below (for some weird reason) is gonna change that!

There's a reason it has the lowest rating on IMDb (and everywhere else you go online), lowest box office returns, and derailed the franchise permanently.

Jaws 3D had potential. The huge mother could have been a megalodon, and might have been an opportunity to do some old fashioned monster movie business - cuz you would definitely need a much bigger boat. The flooding underwater corridors and the (awful) control room attack through the glass are ideas that point to the sharks-in-the-room-with-you concept that really kinda worked in Deep Blue Sea. And overall the movie is decently done and moves along well, with good music and generally good actors. The effects are the worst, though... Stop motion was not a sane choice for the shark.
Jaws 4 seems like a casually careless TV movie of the period. The story is listless, the actors seem disengaged and the finale is at least as awful as the control room window business in the previous film.
Interestingly, I read the novelization by Hank Searls and it derives from an earlier draft... which would not have improved the film much, since the most notable difference is a voodoo curse which may be directing the shark.

Jaws 3 is worse, but more fun to watch.
