Gary (Spoilers)

When Cujo charged at Gary, he yells at him saying "I don't give a s**t!!!!!! You hear me?!?!?!? I don't give a s**t!!!!!!". What did Gary mean by that? Also, did anyone notice that Cujo was wagging his tail a lil before attacking him?

reply

Judging by his house and how he was living, I could understand Gary's thoughts about not caring. Cujo also wagged his tail right after he killed him, too.

The director may have left that in to show that C actually enjoyed it.

It's always so funny to me when someone puts "Spoilers" in the thread title, when the spoiler IS the thread title. 

Cujo wasn't wagging his tail. The trained dog who was playing Cujo (whichever one was used in that scene, as there were 5 used throughout the movie) does not actually have rabies and is not a vicious dog. St. Bernards are big lovers, sweet dogs who enjoy being around people. You can train a movie dog to do a lot of things, but you can't train them not to wag their tails at the wrong time. That's just part of working with live animals.

What I don’t understand is why didn’t Gary close his door when he got in his house. All he did was lock the screen door. That screen wasn’t strong enough to hold that big dog.

I wondered that, too! Then again, if he shut the big door, he would've gotten the gun loaded in time and shot him, end of movie. But I think it was to show he wasn't too bright. As far as the "I don't give a sh*t" line, he says that in the book, too. He basically doesn't care about anything.
