I miss the old Christmas trees. That is how they looked when i was a kid. I heard they stopped using tinsel because cats would eat it and end up dying. I don't know how true that is but i definitely like the old trees. I have noticed more and more the older style lights (bigger bulbs and multi colored) being used again.

shareYeah, in the '50s and '60s, and even up through the '80s those trees were available, and inexpensive. They had open branches so there was room to hang ornaments all through them, not just on the outside. The tinsel used to be lead foil, so it would hang down nicely. Then they replaced it with plastic tinsel, which is still available, though hardly anyone uses it anymore.
