recast The Big Chill with todays stars/actors

They made a technical sequel called ASKING ALEX. It's the same premise but Alex lives. Enjoy. Oh and they shouldn't recast or remake this movie at all.

Seeing how Alex isn't in this, it makes a lot of sense to have him played by Heath Ledger.

Anyway, good choiced, I'd have Gosling play Nick, though. William Hurt reminded me of Gosling the whole movie.

Wouldn't work. Part of the reason for the success of the movie was the music. The best music of that era was used already. Other good tunes could be used, but it wouldn't be the same. "Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin is part of the scenes where that song plays, for example.

If you use the exact same music, then it would seem odd, since the actors are different. And a producer wouldn't want to do that, anyway.

If you use a different era, it'd have to have amazing music like that era. The eras after that one don't have the same quality of music, I think. Except for some music that wasn't top 40, so I doubt the public could relate. Rolling Stones, I guess, would work.

The 60s was an amazing decade for music.

Heath Ledger? ☹️ RIP

I'd go for Actors in their late 30's early 40's.
