Does anybody else get teary-eyed when Carol Anne ...

moves through Diane's soul on the staircase? It's such a beautiful moment and JoBeth Williams acts the hell out of it. I still think she deserved an Oscar nomination.

They cut an entire scene upstairs where Marty gets bitten and traumatized some more because the downstairs scene was just too well done. the scariest they could do after that was the noise coming down the stairs and knocking everybody over.

YES!! I'm watching it right now and that JUST happened and I get tears every single time. Jo Beth Williams made this movie as fantastic as it is. She was perfect.

She is a remarkable actress and so is Craig T Nelson. Both of them are highly underrated. The scene in question gets me every time, and it's rather poignant considering the untimely death of Heather O'Rourke.

It's all a deep end.

The following line gets me every time: "She went through my soul."

"Never mind walking a mile in my shoes. Try thinking a day in my head."

YES!!!! Omg yes. I've always loved that scene and think JoBeth is fantastically realistic in it. After becoming a mom myself, that scene took on a whole new meaning for me. I saw it and ugly cried the entire time. My husband asked if he needed to stop the movie it was so bad. I totally saw myself and my love for my kids in her. Her saying she can smell Carol Anne was too much. I was wrecked.

Yep

I breakdown crying everytime I watch that scene.

reply

Yes. I don't get teary eyed too often.

reply

Not really. I like the movie, but that scene felt a bit silly to me.

No .

It was perfectly executed. Jobeth Williams, should have gotten an academy for her acting in that movie. She could cry on queue really well..
